Today, our Tucker family lost another member. My Aunt Sarah Tucker Gale joined her brother Jon Archie. She and her family lived in Flagstaff when I was growing up so I didn’t see her as much as the closer relatives. However, I always loved seeing her and thought she was so beautiful, as were my other aunts. She had a sparkling personality and was always fun to be around. I was able to see her more as an adult, which made me very happy. She told me stories about my dad helping her push start his car so she could sneak out to see her friends and boys. Her dad was very protective of his daughters and didn’t like them dating. She also told me stories about her family’s visits to Rocky Point, Mexico when their children were little. They stayed in the same cabin we used when our family went to Mexico. Aunt Sarah took a DNA test for me and also gave me a copy of my grandparents’ marriage certificate. I will forever love and miss her but no one in my family will be forgotten. I will ensure their stories and life are preserved for future generations.
